The General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage, in collaboration with its partners in the regional tourism development councils and tourism committees, is expected to launch 30 tourism festivals, as part of the 57 festivals comprising "Saudi Summer 1436 AH," which will take place during the upcoming month of Shawwal across all regions of the Kingdom. These festivals represent the second half of "Saudi Summer," following a series of festivals held from mid-Sha’ban through mid-Ramadan.

The festivals include a variety of events, ranging from entertainment, cultural, social, heritage, and sports programs, ranging from marketing and desert festivals to heritage events, as well as festivals showcasing regional agricultural products, tourism and sports festivals, and entertainment festivals.

Medina Region The 36th Taiba Summer Festival runs from the 27th of Shawwal through the 10th of Dhu al-Qi’dah.

Najran Region The Najran Summer Festival 2015 runs from the 10th to the 25th of Shawwal.

Ha’il Region The 36th Ha’il Summer Festival takes place throughout the month of Shawwal.

Jazan Region The Jazan Summer Festival will take place at the waterfront starting on the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

Makkah Region The city of Taif will host the 36th Souk Okaz Festival from the 27th of Shawwal to the 10th of Dhu al-Qi’dah.

Al-Baha Region will host the International Honey Festival starting on the 10th of Shawwal for five days at Raghadan Forest Park.

Al-Qassim Region will host the Date Festival in Buraydah from the 15th of Shawwal through the 1st of Dhu al-Hijjah. The Unaizah Summer Festival runs from the 7th of Shawwal to the 29th of Dhu al-Qi’dah; the Al-Khabir Heritage Festival runs from the second day of Eid al-Fitr through the fifth; and the Al-Bada’i Dates Festival runs from the 25th of Shawwal to the 20th of Dhu al-Qi’dah.

Al-Jawf Region hosts three festivals: the "Al-Jawf is Sweet with Al-Jawf Pastries" Festival from the 7th of Shawwal to the 29th of Dhu al-Qi’dah; the “Your Summer, Your Way” Festival from the 15th of Shawwal until the beginning of Dhu al-Hijjah in Al-Qurayyat; and the “Kaf Summer Festival” in Al-Qurayyat from the second day of Eid al-Fitr through the fifth.

Eastern Province The Palm and Date Festival in Jubail runs from the 19th of Shawwal to the 28th of Dhu al-Qi’dah, and the “Summer of the Eastern Province 36” Festival in Dammam runs from the middle to the end of Shawwal, as well as fireworks, children’s activities, a parade of cars and tanks, and folk arts throughout the month of Shawwal in Dammam and Al-Khobar; the Zaman Ibn Khaldun Festival from the end of Ramadan through the 17th of Shawwal; and the “Your Planet, Your Needs” exhibition in Al-Khobar from the second day of Eid through the 4th of Dhu al-Hijjah.

Tabuk Region hosts the 10-day Tayma Tourism Festival starting in mid-Shawwal, the Amlaj Maritime Heritage Festival from the 5th to the 10th of Shawwal, and the Tabuk Summer Festival from the 20th of Shawwal to mid-Dhu al-Hijjah, as well as the Haqlna and Nasah Festival for five days from the 25th until the end of Shawwal, the Duba Al-Dar Dark Heritage Festival from the 20th of Shawwal until the beginning of Dhu al-Qi’dah, and the Al-Wajh: Our Destination Festival from the 25th of Shawwal until the beginning of Dhu al-Qi’dah,

Asir Region will host the “Abha Brings Us Together” Festival on the 5th of Shawwal for one month in Al-Sawda and Al-Habla in the city of Abha. During the same period, the Al-Sawda Heritage Village Festival will take place, as well as the Al-Sawda Entertainment and Shopping Festival, the Asir Shopping Festival, the Equestrian Festival, the Family and Children’s Program, the 3D Art Studio, the Archery Event, the Horse Safari in Al-Sawda, Festival Street, the Color Run, and the Productive Families and Artisans Program, in addition to the Abha Poetry Evenings from the 10th of Shawwal through the 15th of Dhu al-Qi’dah, the Second Honey Festival from the 18th of Shawwal through the 28th of Dhu al-Qi’dah, the Gulf Days Festival from the 20th of Shawwal through the 25th of Dhu al-Qi’dah, the First Asir Marathon starting on the 8th of Shawwal and lasting for one month in Abha, paragliding and the Asir International Rope Climbing Championship from the 10th to the 15th of Shawwal, youth events from the 25th of Shawwal for five days; the theater program from the 15th to the 25th of Shawwal; the military parade from the 20th of Shawwal for 10 days; “Provincial Nights” at Al-Muftahah Theater from the 20th of Shawwal through the 3rd of Dhu al-Qi’dah; the horse endurance race in Khamis Mushait on the 23rd and 24th of Shawwal; and the tourist bus service starting on the third day of Eid al-Fitr and running for one month.
