His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Riyadh Region and Chairman of the region’s Tourism Development Council, recently formed a task force to develop the exhibitions and conferences sector in the Riyadh Region, chaired by the Secretary General of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry and comprising representatives from the Riyadh Region Secretariat, the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, King Khalid International Airport, the High Commission for the Development of Riyadh, King Saud University, the National Program for Exhibitions and Conferences, and three companies that organize exhibitions and conferences in Riyadh. The task force reports directly to His Highness.

The task force is expected to support the acceleration of infrastructure projects necessary for hosting international exhibitions and conferences in the Riyadh region, and to market the Riyadh region as a premier destination for exhibitions and conferences across local, regional, and international levels, in accordance with a marketing strategy aimed at raising awareness of Riyadh’s assets as a premier destination for exhibitions and conferences, enhancing understanding of the strengths of exhibitions and conferences sector in the Riyadh region, encouraging more exhibitions and conferences to be held in the Riyadh region, and distinguishing the Riyadh region from its main competitors.
