Under the slogan “Our Future Is Now,” the “Digital Government Forum“, the first new package of digital products and services for government agencies, in the presence and with the participation of a number of government agencies, as well as several ministers, as well as a select group of experts, specialists, and decision-makers in the field of digital government at both the local and international levels. The forum focused on artificial intelligence technologies, discussing and analyzing their role in the future.
Artificial Intelligence and the Future
On the first day of the forum, panel discussions and workshops began, featuring a select group of local and international experts in the field of digital government. This was followed by six workshops, namely: “How will artificial intelligence the future,” ”What Comes After Digital Government,” ”The Role of the ESCAPE Change Management Model in Achieving Transformation in the Digital Age,” ”Best Practices for Procuring Technical Assets,” and ”Adopting the Life Journey Program Concept in Public Traffic Management.”

On this occasion, Eng. Ahmed Al-Suwaiyan, Governor of the Digital Government Authority, said: “This forum, under the slogan ”Our Future Now," reflects the Kingdom’s leadership’s commitment to encouraging and empowering government agencies to accelerate the digital transformation process, enhance the image of the digital government, and increase cooperation and partnerships with local and international stakeholders, to achieve the well-being of the people and the United Nations" Sustainable Development Goals in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
GCC Award
The Governor of the Digital Government Authority announced the winners of the GCC Digital Government Award in its fifth edition, across the six award categories, which are: (Best Digital Inclusion Initiative, Best Use of Artificial Intelligence, Best Open Data Initiative, Best Government Digital Service, Best Digital Community Engagement, and Best Digital Empowerment Initiative for Women).
On the sidelines of the Digital Government Forum 2023, Engineer Abdullah Al-Sawah, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, discussed with Li Juhua, Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs at the United Nations, the strengthening of the strategic partnership for the growth of the digital economy and artificial intelligence, and explored best practices in the field of digital government that align with contemporary challenges to build a sustainable digital future.
Streamlining Judicial and Administrative Procedures
For his part, Dr. Khalid Al-Yousef, President of the Board of Grievances and Chairman of the Administrative Judiciary Council, explained that the digital transformation at the Board of Grievances is a foundational and transformative phase through which it seeks to utilize emerging technologies and artificial intelligence in judicial and administrative operations and procedures, which contributes to creating a development environment in line with governance standards, helps achieve the future goals of the administrative judiciary, and is reflected in the quality and efficiency of judicial outcomes at the Board of Grievances.
