According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, more than 14,000 participants from investment leaders, heads of major mining companies, experts and technical specialists in this field from 133 countries, in addition to 100 sponsors and exhibitors attended the conference, while 250 speakers participated in the 70 sessions of the conference, including ministers, ambassadors and heads of delegations of the countries participating in the conference.

Rising untapped mineral potential
<The conference witnessed the announcement of the new estimates of the Kingdom's untapped mineral potential, which increased from 1.3 trillion to 2.5 trillion dollars, an increase of 90%, and witnessed the signing of 75 agreements and memorandums of understanding with a total value of more than 75 billion riyals in the field of mining and mining industries between a number of government agencies and local and international companies and institutions participating in the conference, including mining exploration, financing, technology, application of sustainability standards, and investment in supply chains.Exhibition of the latest mining technologies
<The statement pointed out that an area was set up to showcase the latest current and future mining technologies, an outdoor exhibition area, and an area dedicated to showcasing investment opportunities in Africa, West and Central Asia, as promising mining regions capable of contributing to filling future demand gaps for minerals, as well as the Mining Exploration Opportunities Forum, with the participation of major international companies in the field of mining exploration and national investment companies interested in the mining sector. On Tuesday, the conference witnessed the third international ministerial meeting of ministers concerned with mining affairs, attended by 75 countries and 35 governmental and non-governmental organizations. The meeting discussed taking practical steps to enhance cooperation between governments and international organizations, and agreed to establish coordination and working groups composed of interested governments and organizations to consult within the framework of the International Mining Conference, provide a space to exchange ideas, develop initiatives and action plans, report to participants by mid-2024, and make recommendations to the International Mining Conference in its 2025 edition.The third edition of the International Mining Conference was held last Tuesday. It is noteworthy that the third edition of the conference was praised by the participants from Their Excellencies ministers and representatives of governments and companies, praising the Kingdom's great capabilities in the mining sector and its potential to excel in this sector to become a mineral processing center, praising the continuation of the International Mining Conference to be a catalyst for the development of the sector, especially in terms of exploration, faster, in light of the increasing demand for minerals in the world in the future, driven by modern industrial trends, especially in terms of renewable energy needs and other industries that rely on many critical minerals.
The International Mining Conference is the first of its kind to be held by the International Mining Conference in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
