Saudi cement companies' profits fall 42% during the fourth quarter of 2023

Consolidated profits fell to SAR 393.43 million, with Saudi Cement leading the way and Northern Cement posting the highest losses.

The profits of Saudi cement companies fell 14.34% during the fourth quarter of last year 2023, as the consolidated profits of the companies decreased to 393.43 million riyals, compared to profits of 688.2 million riyals during the same quarter of 2022, a decrease of 42.83%.

10 companies recorded net profits in the fourth quarter of last year, compared to 3 companies that incurred losses, and the profits of all profitable companies decreased, except for two companies that recorded a growth in profits.

Saudi Cement Company retained the lead in terms of the highest profits during the fourth quarter of 2023, with a net profit of 103.8 million riyals compared to 154.5 million riyals for the same period in 2022, to decrease the company's profits by 32.82%.

While Southern Cement came in second place with a net profit of 74 million riyals, compared to a profit of 63 million riyals for the fourth quarter of 2022, an increase of 17.46%.

With regard to the cement companies with the largest losses, Northern Cement recorded the highest losses, with a net loss of 8.31 million riyals, compared to a net profit of 36.73 million riyals for the fourth quarter of 2022.
