The index focuses on assessing the development of cities in the areas of health and safety, employment and education, mobility, cultural activities, governance, and balancing economic, technical and human life, as smart cities aim to employ digital technologies to make better use of resources, reduce carbon emissions, make them more interactive and responsive to citizens, and make public spaces more responsive to the needs of residents.
