Local and international companies are preparing to invest 50 billion riyals in the «Plasschem» complex in Jubail 2

The “PlasChem” plastics and chemicals manufacturing complex in Jubail 2 continues to attract numerous companies to establish manufacturing plants within the complex, which has an investment capacity of approximately 50 billion riyals, enabling them to benefit from the raw materials, intermediate products, and feedstocks provided by Sadara Chemical Company and Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemicals Company (SATROP), as well as other key petrochemical industries in Jubail Industrial City and Ras Al-Khair, most notably SABIC, Chevron, Tasnee, SABIC, and Ma’aden.

In the same context, Sadara Chemicals has signed a new agreement with Ibrahim Ahmed Al-Jafali & Brothers, a private Saudi company, to supply triphenyl glycol ether   (BTG), following the successful implementation of an agreement to supply methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) in July 2015. Under the new agreement, Sadara will supply triphenyl glycol ether (BTG) to one of the new production plants to be built as part of Al-Jafali Company’s chemical production project, which is scheduled to be established at the “Plaschem” complex in Jubail Industrial City II. The project covers an area of 12 square kilometers.

The “Plaschem” complex seeks to attract more diverse investments in various manufacturing applications, including the production of oil and gas chemicals, construction materials, and coatings, as well as personal care and household products. These investments are expected to create new job opportunities for Saudi citizens in the manufacturing sector and will contribute to the Kingdom’s plans to diversify its economy.
