The Secretariat of the Holy Capital (185) a certificate of compliance for buildings located along the targeted roads and streets in various neighborhoods of Makkah, during the period from August 11, 2024, to August 21, 2024.

The Secretariat clarified that it continues to accept applications for the issuance of certificates for buildings located on the targeted roads and streets after their status has been rectified, with the aim of ensuring that the owners of these commercial buildings comply with regulations regarding the absence of visual disturbances, and to provide a healthy and sustainable urban environment, and to enhance the urban landscape of the Holy Capital to improve the quality of life in various areas and neighborhoods.

The Secretariat also issued 18 occupancy certificates immediately upon completion of construction phases via the “Baladi” platform without the need to visit the municipality, in addition to issuing 56 building permits during the same period.

The Secretariat emphasized to owners of buildings located within the targeted areas the need to promptly obtain the certificate to avoid fines, noting that issuing the certificate requires specific criteria to ensure buildings meet the minimum standards for addressing visual pollution, as outlined in the updated guide for procedures regarding the issuance of building compliance certificates.
The required criteria and the certificate issuance process can be accessed via the “Baladi” app through simple and user-friendly steps.

It is worth noting that the Secretariat has launched an awareness campaign over the past few months via social media and its various channels, to urge owners of targeted commercial buildings to obtain a certificate of compliance, calling on them to promptly address all visual irregularities in their buildings in accordance with the Ministry’s approved guide on building compliance certification procedures.
