“Trade”: 44 establishments referred to the Public Prosecution for organizing competitions and discounts without a license

The Ministry of Commerce Ministry of Commerce has seized 44 commercial establishments that organized competitions and discounts without obtaining a license and referred them to the Public Prosecution to complete the application of regular penalties in accordance with the provisions of the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law.

<The Ministry stressed the importance of the commitment of commercial establishments and online stores wishing to organize competitions or discounts to obtain a license from the Ministry, as organizing them without a license is a violation of the provisions of the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law. The ministry monitors the compliance of commercial establishments and online stores with the requirements for organizing contests and discounts, and monitors violations and seizes any fictitious and misleading commercial practices for the consumer. According to the Combating Commercial Fraud Law, those who violate the law are punished with penalties of up to three years in prison, fines of up to one million riyals, or both, and defamation of violators after issuing effective judicial rulings from the competent courts.
