His Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, Governor of the Riyadh Region, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister—may God protect them both—on the occasion of the inauguration of the Riyadh Metro, one of the largest public transportation and infrastructure projects in the world.

His Highness explained that the Riyadh Metro project represents a historic national achievement that reflects the tremendous support of the wise leadership and its forward-looking vision to cement Riyadh’s position as one of the world’s leading capitals. He emphasized that the Riyadh Metro will contribute to the development of the public transportation system, improve quality of life, reduce traffic congestion, and promote environmental sustainability in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

His Highness noted the significant efforts made by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud—may God protect him—when he was Governor of the Riyadh Region, where he spearheaded the modern planning and construction phases of the capital. This legacy is being further strengthened today through the vision of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, which has led to the launch of landmark projects that have made Riyadh a global model for sustainable development.

His Highness concluded his remarks by emphasizing that the inauguration of the Riyadh Metro reflects the leadership’s ambitious vision for the capital’s future, expressing his pride in the remarkable development Riyadh is witnessing, which reflects the spirit of collective national effort, and praying to God to preserve the Kingdom’s wise leadership, security, and stability, and to crown its efforts with further success and progress.
