The Saudi Central Bank “SAMA” announced the launch of the “Samsung Pay” payment service through the Kingdom’s national payment system, “Mada.” This step is part of the Central Bank’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the Kingdom’s digital payment ecosystem, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
The service aims to provide users with a sophisticated and secure payment experience, enabling them to easily and securely add and manage Mada cards and digital credit cards via the “Samsung Wallet” app, as part of the Saudi Central Bank’s strategy to expand the use of financial technology solutions via smart devices, promote financial inclusion in the Kingdom, and encourage the financial sector to serve customers using the latest payment methods.
This step reflects the commitment of the Saudi Central Bank to continuously develop the digital payments infrastructure in the Kingdom, thereby contributing to the growth of payment digitization indicators, and achieving the transition to a less cash-dependent society by providing advanced digital payment solutions that align with the technical requirements of the national payments infrastructure.
The launch of this service is part of a series of technological innovations aimed at meeting the needs of the Saudi market and facilitating the digital payment experience, thereby strengthening the Kingdom’s position as one of the world’s leading countries in the field of fintech payments.
