Statistics: Industrial production index rose by 5 % in October

All sub-activities were included, led by manufacturing (+12.4%) and the rise of oil and non-oil activities.

The General Authority for Statistics released today the results of the the Industrial Production Index for October 2024.

According to the results of the bulletin, the index of industrial production volumes Industrial Production Index by 1.5% compared to the same month of the previous year (October 2023), supported by increases in all sub-economic activities that constitute the components of the index, including mining and quarrying, manufacturing, electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply, water supply, and sewage, waste management, and treatment activities.

The bulletin’s results showed a 1.4% year-on-year increase in the sub-index for mining and quarrying, and a 12.41% increase in the sub-index for manufacturing, as well as the sub-index for electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply, and the sub-index for water supply, sanitation, and waste management and treatment by 1.62%, and 1.84%, respectively.

The results of the October bulletin indicated a rise in the index for oil activities by 1.54% and for non-oil activities by 1.4% compared to the same month last year.

It is worth noting that the General Authority for Statistics publishes the Industrial Production Index on a monthly basis; an economic indicator that reflects relative changes in the volume of industrial production based on data from the Industrial Production Survey, which is conducted on a sample of industrial establishments engaged in targeted industrial activities.
