The The Royal Commission for Makkah City and the Holy Sites, represented by the Transportation Center General Transportation Center, has announced the extension of the qualification process for real estate developers and transportation operators in Makkah Al-Mukarramah for projects to develop transportation sites and stations in Makkah Al-Mukarramah. The deadline for submitting expressions of interest is January 8, 2025, and the deadline for submitting qualification requirements is January 20, 2025.

It is worth noting that the Unified Transportation Center at the Royal Commission in Makkah oversees all work and activities in the transportation sector in the city of Makkah and the Holy Sites. It serves as the primary framework for governing the sector’s system and works to achieve its objectives, which are summarized as unifying planning across various transportation projects to ensure the required capacity, to meet the aspirations of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aims to provide the opportunity for the largest possible number of Muslims to perform the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages, and to improve the quality of the transportation sector to ensure the highest-quality transportation services for residents and visitors to the city of Makkah, ensuring financial sustainability by increasing revenue, enabling the financing of asset construction and development projects through returns on other assets, and achieving social and environmental benefits, such as improving road safety and reducing pollutant emissions, among others.
