Ministry of Municipalities and Housing revealed that the total number of construction licenses issued through Baladi application during the year 2024 has increased by 80% from the previous year. The ministry revealed that more than 276 thousand construction licenses were issued through Baladi application during 2024, with a growth rate of 80% over last year, while the total number of commercial licenses issued reached more than 130 thousand, with a growth rate of more than 149%, and the number of health certificates issued during the same year reached more than 811 thousand health certificates, with a growth rate of 45%, while the total number of building compliance certificates reached nearly 100 thousand certificates in various regions of the Kingdom.“
The ministry also revealed that the number of health certificates issued during the same year amounted to more than 811 thousand, with a growth rate of 45%. The second phase of the Bahja project was launched, which included the establishment and implementation of 357 parks and urban interventions in neighborhoods and residential communities in various regions, with the aim of providing large green spaces for recreational activities and increasing the per capita share of green spaces, which contributed to increasing the population's access to parks within 800 meters to 58%.
The Ministry noted that efforts to humanize cities and improve the urban landscape continue to enhance the well-being of living in the Kingdom, with a growth rate of 451 TP3T. In the field of digital solutions and smart municipalities, the ministry has employed modern technology and artificial intelligence techniques in many municipal services, especially in addressing visual distortions and improving the urban landscape, where nearly 14 million photos were taken through ”Baladi Lens“, in addition to processing more than 1.2 million reports of visual distortions through secretariats in various regions of the Kingdom, and 500 thousand people benefited from the services of ”Baladi Lifestyle“ during 2024.
Ministry of Municipalities and Smart Municipalities has employed modern technology and artificial intelligence techniques in many municipal services, especially in addressing visual distortions and improving the urban landscape. The ministry noted that the infrastructure in the Kingdom's cities and governorates has witnessed a tangible development in terms of improving the quality of roads, developing the waste system and rainwater drainage and torrential rains, as infrastructure development projects resulted in raising the road quality index in the Kingdom to 65%, 8 strategic plans for rainwater drainage and torrential rains were implemented, and more than 80 landfills were closed and converted into engineered landfills.
Within the framework of the regulatory and supervisory role, the ministry issued and updated 44 manuals of requirements during 2024, to improve the quality of municipal services, raise their efficiency and provide a quality experience for beneficiaries, in order to contribute to raising the quality of life in the cities and governorates of the Kingdom. The ministry's supervisory teams conducted more than 5.1 million supervisory rounds in various regions of the Kingdom, with a growth rate of more than 1001 TP3T over 2023.
The ministry continued its efforts to improve the quality of roads in the Kingdom, with a total of 65%. The ministry continued its efforts to attract investors and promote investment opportunities in the municipal sector through its projects and initiatives aimed at increasing the attractiveness of the investment environment, as the volume of investment opportunities offered during 2024 through the ”ForUs" platform reached more than 14,000 investment opportunities with a total value of more than 4 billion riyals.
