The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing issued more than 574 thousand municipal licenses during 2025, within the approved municipal licensing system, as part of its continuous efforts to regulate urban activities, raise the efficiency of procedures, and facilitate the journey of beneficiaries and customers.
The ministry explained that the licenses issued included more than 202 thousand commercial licenses, 66 thousand occupancy certificates, and 78 thousand <a href="https://amlak.In accordance with the approved requirements, in order to support economic activities, regulate construction work, and improve the quality of buildings in cities.
Municipal licenses also included 8,400 restoration licenses, 4,700 demolition licenses, and 4,700 land fencing licenses, within the approved regulatory procedures, in order to regulate the urban environment, improve the urban landscape, and ensure the safety of buildings and facilities. The municipal licensing system also included the issuance of about 199,000 excavation licenses, in addition to about 7,000 licenses to add and modify the components of building permits, which supports the flexibility of modernization and development in existing projects and promotes the efficient use of land and buildings.<In terms of the efficiency of procedures, the ministry explained that the municipal licensing system continued to develop its procedures through digital channels and approved paths, where the average time for issuing municipal licenses reached about 24 hours during 2025, which contributes to accelerating completion and raising the level of satisfaction of beneficiaries, noting the achievement of 100% in the target of the first phase of the Building Compliance Certificate, within the framework of implementing municipal requirements and promoting compliance with approved standards, which reflects on improving the quality of buildings, raising the level of safety, and regulating land use.The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing emphasized that these indicators come within its regulatory tasks for the municipal sector, developing licensing and control procedures, and updating relevant manuals and requirements, in order to enhance the efficiency of municipal work and improve the urban environment.
