Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majid Al-Hogail explained that the most prominent amendments approved by the Council of Ministers today are the fee rate, white land areas, types of use, stages of application and its inclusion of vacant properties, which the system defines as (buildings ready for use and prepared for occupancy within the urban area and not used for a long time without an acceptable reason and whose non-use or non-utilization affects the provision of sufficient supply in the real estate market).

Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majid Al-Hogail explained that the most important amendments approved by the Council of Ministers today are the fee rate and areas of white lands, types of use, stages of application and its inclusion of vacant properties, which are defined by the system The amendments included raising the upper limit of the annual fee percentage not to exceed (10%) of the value of the property, and reconsidering the areas on which the fee is imposed in white lands, provided that the area of the land or the total land within the applicable scope is not less than (5) thousand m2 as determined by the regulations."

The new amendments impose the fee on white lands. The new amendments impose fees on vacant properties within the approved urban area at a percentage of the similar rent (annual rent) not exceeding 5% of the value of the property as determined by the regulations.

The Minister of Municipalities emphasized that the areas imposed by the fee should be considered in white lands. The Minister of Municipalities and Housing emphasized that the regulations of the White Land System are being issued within (90) days from the date of publication of the system in the Official Gazette.
