“Saudi Electricity Company raises capacity in holy sites by 75% for the Hajj season

Saudi Electricity Company (SEC)SEC has increased the capacity of the electrical network in the Holy Sites area for the 1446 Hajj season by more than (75%), compared to the last season, within a package of development projects costing more than (3) billion riyals.

Engineer Abdul Salam Al-Omari, General Supervisor of the Hajj Plan in Saudi Electricity Company, explained that these efforts came in implementation of the directives of the wise government and under the direct guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy, where the company began a comprehensive study of the results of the last Hajj season, analyzing requests and technical needs, and working to translate them into the current year's projects.

While the company's Hajj projects have been implemented, the company's efforts have not been limited to the Hajj season. He explained that the company implemented these projects early and connected all the loads within the feelings area, which contributed to enhancing the reliability and stability of the network during the season, adding that the operations and management center of the electrical system in the feelings was equipped with the latest technical applications supported by artificial intelligence, which allowed comprehensive monitoring of the system, and connecting electrical equipment with a fiber optic network that contributes to accelerating the flow of information to operators, enabling them to make timely decisions, with the support of national cadres trained in the latest energy management systems.

He added that the company has developed a system of operations and management of the electrical system in the feelings. He added that the company has developed an alternative plan for any emergency, through the intensive field presence of more than (2200) engineers, technicians and specialists, distributed in (57) staging centers, geographically distributed in a way that ensures access to any location in the feelings in less than five minutes.

Engineer Al-Omari stressed that the company has developed an alternative plan for any emergency. <Engineer Al-Omari emphasized that the preparation work for the Hajj season begins immediately after the end of the previous season, and includes examining the paths of the electrical network and reviewing more than (50) thousand electrical equipment to ensure their efficiency and quality of performance, under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Energy, and two comprehensive tests of the system are carried out on (24) and (29) of the month of Dhu al-Qa'dah, and meters and field tests are under close monitoring by the Saudi Regulatory Authority <a href="https://amlak" href="https://amlak.Electricity, to ensure the safety of all connections and the absence of irregularities, with full documentation of these procedures.

He pointed out that the last Hajj season witnessed historic record loads of (454) MW, expecting this year's loads to increase by between (20%) to (30%).
