A delegation from Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones concluded its official visit to the Republic of Turkey, which lasted from June 16-18, in response to an official invitation aimed at enhancing international cooperation, exchanging experiences and attracting quality investments.
During the visit, MODON CEO Majid bin Rafid Al-Arqobi met with Turkish Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Oruç Baba Inan, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Turkey Fahd Asad Abulnasr, to review investment possibilities and discuss aspects of cooperation in the fields of development, industrialization and technology.
The CEO and the MODON delegation participated in a workshop held with the Supreme Organization for Organized Industrial Zones in the Republic of Turkey, during which they reviewed opportunities for joint cooperation, best practices of industrial governance, exchange of experiences on investor support tools, and development of services and infrastructure.
The delegation was briefed on innovation systems and fourth industrial revolution solutions at the PROTA Technology Manufacturing Technology Center and the METU Research and Development Center, and visited the BaskentOSB Industrial Zone to discuss prospects for joint cooperation and exchange of experiences in the development of industrial cities.
The CEO visited the Marmara Research Center of the Scientific and Technological Research Council “TUBITAK” and was briefed on the most prominent research and development experiences in the fields of energy and advanced technologies, as well as the “Bilisim Vadisi” Technology Valley to learn about startup support systems, innovation programs, and entrepreneurship in the technical sectors, reviewed the Turkish national project for the electric car industry in TOGG and learned about the strategies of transformation towards smart and sustainable mobility, and met with INNOFOOD program officials to learn about initiatives to support SMEs operating in the food sector.
At the end of the visit, the CEO and the MODON delegation held a meeting with the Turkish-Saudi Business Council, attended by more than (50) Turkish companies, to review the most prominent industrial potentials and investment incentives in industrial cities, open partnership horizons with the Turkish private sector, and held side discussions with major Turkish companies to discuss opportunities for joint cooperation and ways to attract quality investments.
The visit is in line with MODON's strategic objectives and vision to be the preferred destination for the growth of local and foreign quality investments and the first partner of the industrial, logistics and technology system in line with the objectives of the National Industrial Strategy and the aspirations of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 to consolidate its position as a global industrial and logistics center.
