Mr. Abdullah Alharbi, FIABCI Representative to the United Nations and President of FIABCI Saudi Arabia, participated in the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, which was held from June 30 to July 3, 2025, in Seville, Spain, with the participation of more than 50 global leaders and representatives of more than 150 countries, led by King Felipe VI of Spain and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchi.

In addition to the participation of a number of officials of international organizations and civil society organizations, most notably the World Bank, the conference also witnessed a distinguished presence of the Saudi delegation and the delegations of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

Participants discussed several important issues related to the field of development finance in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals to reform the global financial system, and participants also discussed emerging issues in the field of development finance.

The main outcomes of the conference were the launch of 130 initiatives within the Seville Platform for Action to implement the Seville Pledge to close the $4 trillion SDG financing gap, stimulate large-scale investment for sustainable development, address debt and development crises, reform the global financial architecture, launch a Debt for Development Swap Center to expand debt-for-development swap deals, and launch the Seville Debt Forum to exchange experiences and enhance coordination in debt management, with the support of the United Nations and Spain.

It is worth mentioning that the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development is a key milestone for reshaping the global financial system to keep pace with development challenges.
