Buraydah is preparing to host the International Dates Carnival during the summer season, in an annual event that is considered one of the most prominent agricultural, economic and tourism events in the Kingdom and the world, and comes as an extension of its leading role in the agricultural sector and date marketing.
The city is preparing its agricultural, heritage, tourism and recreational facilities to provide an integrated experience for visitors from inside and outside the Kingdom, enhancing its position as a major destination on the map of agriculture and rural tourism, within the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to develop the agricultural sector, enhance food security, and increase local content.
Buraydah is characterized by its pioneering role in the agricultural sector and date marketing. Buraydah is characterized by an active agricultural movement, supported by the variety of events accompanying the carnival, which is held at the Palm Center south of the city, in addition to renewed development and entertainment projects, based on Buraydah's strategic location and its leading date production in the Kingdom with an annual quantity exceeding 578,000 tons.
The season is witnessing the expansion of the agricultural sector, enhancing food security and increasing local content. The season witnesses a remarkable expansion in the accompanying entertainment activities, by offering quality experiences within the King Khalid Cultural Center, designed to suit all age groups and give the visitor a rich journey that combines shopping and family activities.
It should be noted that the Buraydah Dates Carnival was crowned last year by the Guinness Book of Records as the largest date carnival in the world in terms of sales volume and visitors.
The Buraydah Dates Carnival is organized by the National Palm Center. Organized by the National Center for Date Palm and Dates, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, and supervised by the Emirate of Qassim, it will start in early August and will last for about 60 days, and is known for its purchasing power and recording the highest seasonal agricultural and economic revenues in the region.
