Riyadh train ridership surpasses 100 million passengers in less than 9 months

The the Riyadh Train achieved an exceptional milestone after welcoming its 100-millionth passenger since its launch in early December 2024—in less than nine months after beginning operations, according to an announcement by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City.

The Authority revealed that the Blue Line of Riyadh Metro on the Al-Olaya Road corridor led in passenger numbers with approximately 46.5 million riders, followed by the Red Line on King Abdullah Road with 17 million passengers, then the Orange Line on the Madinah Road corridor with 12 million passengers, while the remaining three lines combined recorded 24.5 million passengers.

The data indicated that the operational reliability of Riyadh Train has reached 99.78% since service began, reflecting high operational efficiency and adherence to the schedule. The busiest stations were Qasr Al-Hukm, the Financial District, stc Main, and the National Museum, which accounted for more than 29% of total passenger traffic as they serve as major transfer stations connecting several lines.

It is worth noting that the Riyadh Metro project was officially inaugurated last November under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, The project comprises six lines stretching 176 kilometers and includes 85 stations, making it one of the largest public transportation projects in the region.
