The Saudi Plastics and Petrochemical Industries Exhibition 2015, which was inaugurated recently by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for Industry Affairs, Engineer Saleh Al-Sulami, at the Jeddah Forums Center, witnessed the participation of more than 300 local and international companies from several countries, most notably: UAE, Turkey, China, Egypt, India and China.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for Industry Affairs said during the opening of the exhibition that the Kingdom provides more facilities for investors than other countries, such as land, electricity, services and water facilities, pointing out that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry provides absolute support for local industries, indicating that the exhibition will move from one region to another, as the minister directed that the opening of the exhibition for this session in Jeddah, after it was held in Riyadh, and the next session in the Eastern Province.
The exhibition will be held in Jeddah after being held in Riyadh. Executive Vice President of Polymers at Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), Musaed Al-Ohali, explained that the current oil prices have led to a decrease in chemical prices and lack of demand, noting that the market has regained some of its balance as a result of regaining part of the demand

He pointed out that supporting the manufacturing industries is based on three things: the availability of raw materials, which is available in the Kingdom, the second thing in supporting the manufacturing industries and there is a former center for application development that does this, and the third thing depends on the size of supply and demand.
