The capital city of Riyadh is hosting the «Second Saudi Forum for Conferences and Exhibitions,» organized by the National Program for Exhibitions and Conferences, from November 9–11, 2014, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman, President of the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities, and under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Abdullah, Governor of the Riyadh Region. A number of government and private entities, as well as the Kingdom’s leading conference and exhibition management and organization companies, are participating in the forum’s organization and sponsorship. Preparations are underway on multiple fronts, focusing on the most important theme of this comprehensive gathering—which will be attended by specialists and officials—namely, the tremendous potential for future growth of the exhibition and conference industry in the Kingdom. The forum aims to transfer knowledge and draw on international experiences in the field of conference and exhibition industry development, highlight the importance of this sector and its role in economic development in general and tourism in particular, develop the capabilities of owners, organizers, and service providers in the Kingdom’s conference and exhibition sector, strengthen communication channels among them, and increase investment in conference and exhibition projects. The forum discusses recent trends in the conference and exhibition industry, the development of the sector’s organizational infrastructure, investment opportunities in the establishment and operation of conference and exhibition centers, the professional development of sector employees, and highlighting Saudi cities that have the potential to host conferences and exhibitions.
