<A source close to Jubail United Petrochemical Company told ICIS yesterday: The company plans to restart the No. 1 ethylene glycol plant by the end of August, after the plant was shut down at the beginning of July for maintenance work that included changing the unit's reactor, which was scheduled to be completed in September. The ethylene glycol plant No. 1 has a production capacity of about 700,000 tons per year. Ethylene glycol plant No. 2 will also undergo maintenance work for the same purpose, with the plant scheduled to shut down at the end of September or the beginning of October for two months. The source said that the company's contractual obligations to customers will not be affected.
