Dammam-Amlak
The Eastern Chamber organized last week in Dammam the “American Catalog Exhibition”, which included more than 70 small and medium-sized companies representing the sectors of oil and gas services, construction equipment, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, clothing, auto parts, biotechnology, electric power systems, industrial equipment, health care, information technology, water and environment.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Chamber Abdul Rahman Al-Rashed opened the activities of the exhibition in the presence of US Consul Joey Hood, Secretary General of the Chamber Abdul Rahman Al-Wabel and a number of members of the Board of Directors of the Chamber, in addition to a group of businessmen and investors.
Following the opening, Al-Rashed praised the strong economic trade relations between the Kingdom and the United States of America and the depth of communication and cooperation between the two countries, explaining that businessmen look forward to strengthening trade relations between the two countries and reviewing the opportunities available on both sides, noting that the exhibition helps create a new platform to establish new trade relations that contribute to supporting bilateral trade between the two countries.
For his part, US Consul Joey Hood said that the Kingdom and the United States of America enjoy a strong strategic relationship and partnership, which extends in history for more than 75 years, and its roots go back to the era of the founding King Abdulaziz Al Saud and US President Roosevelt.
Hood pointed out that the relationship is still strong and the commercial ties between the two countries are strong, noting that this relationship is bearing fruit as the volume of bilateral trade between the two countries increased to more than 65 billion dollars in 2013, and in the same year the commercial department headed 16 trade delegations to the United States, and provided services to more than a thousand American companies, many of which are doing business in the Kingdom for the first time, where a large amount of this trade is concentrated in the Eastern Province.
Last year, the Export-Import Bank of the United States approved a $4.9 billion loan, the largest loan in its history, to support Sadara Chemical Company, a joint venture between Dow Chemical Company and Saudi Aramco, and Ma'aden formed a joint venture with Alcoa to establish the largest integrated industrial complex for aluminum production and rolling in Ras Al-Khair.
Ma'aden also formed a joint venture with Alcoa to establish the largest integrated industrial complex for aluminum production and rolling in Ras Al-Khair.
