Ministry of Municipalities and Housing conducts more than 20,000 inspections in Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah and Taif

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing , represented by the municipal authorities of (the Holy Capital, Madinah, Jeddah, Taif), that it had carried out more than 20,000 field inspection tours during the first ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan, as part of its seasonal operational plans aimed at enhancing compliance with municipal and health regulations and improving the quality of services provided to Umrah pilgrims, visitors, and those traveling to the Two Holy Mosques.

The Ministry explained that the inspections covered food, commercial, and health facilities, including restaurants, cafes, markets, pharmacies, and healthcare facilities, where field teams focused on verifying compliance with safety and public health requirements, the safe handling and storage of food, and the validity of regulatory licenses, thereby contributing to the protection of consumer health and enhancing the reliability of services in high-density areas.
It noted that the inspections were carried out using a smart inspection methodology that relies on electronic systems to monitor and address violations immediately, and linking reports to clear escalation pathways that ensure a rapid response and resolution of issues, thereby enhancing the efficiency of field operations and increasing compliance among establishments.
The Ministry confirmed that inspection campaigns will continue throughout the month of Ramadan, with intensified efforts in the central district and high-traffic locations, to ensure a sustainable, healthy, and safe environment and improve the experience of pilgrims, in line with quality-of-life objectives.

These efforts are part of a broader initiative to strengthen municipal compliance as a tool for improving service quality, bolstering trust in the municipal system, and demonstrating the integration of preventive oversight, public awareness, and systematic enforcement, reflecting the Ministry’s commitment to its regulatory and service role in supporting the readiness of the holy cities during peak seasons and achieving the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 for more efficient, high-quality, and sustainable cities.
