King patronizes the International Conference of World News Agencies
Riyadh-Amlak
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz will patronize the Fourth International Conference of News Agencies of the World (IV-NAWC) from November 17-21, which will be hosted by the Kingdom represented by the Saudi Press Agency in Riyadh under the title “Reshaping a News Agency in the 21st Century” in the presence of about 112 international news agencies at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Riyadh.
On this occasion, His Excellency the Minister of Culture and Information and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Press Agency Authority, Dr. Abdulaziz Khoja, extended his sincere thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for his kindness in sponsoring the conference, which is hosted by the Kingdom with the consensus of the World Council of News Agencies, stressing the importance of holding this conference coinciding with the current revolution in the field of communication technology and information exchange that has increased the pace of competition between the various media organizations to access and disseminate information.

Dr. Khoja explained that this conference aims to improve the performance of the work of agencies as they are still the main producer of news in the world despite the emergence of new media, enhance their role in publishing objective and unbiased news, protect their work from piracy, expand the general awareness of the journalist about the background of the news and absorb the developments of modern media tools and methods, stressing that the conference is a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences between the Saudi Press Agency and local press and media institutions.
In this regard, His Excellency expressed his thanks and appreciation to the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Highness the Crown Prince, and His Highness the Second Deputy - may God protect them - for the attention and care they give to the Saudi media, both public and private, and their support to enable them to perform their tasks assigned to them to serve the members of society, in addition to communicating the Kingdom's message to the world in all transparency, expressing his hope that the Riyadh conference will achieve great success in advancing the tasks of international news agencies.

It is noteworthy that the conference will address several themes, the most prominent of which are new products and services in the market, news and social media platforms, digital news platforms, and supporting the actual needs of newspapers.
