Riyadh—Amlak
In support of the implementation of electronic systems in various fields, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority has approved the implementation of electronic systems to monitor food imported through the Kingdom’s sea, land, and air ports, effective from the first day of Rabi’ al-Awwal, such that no application will be accepted unless submitted electronically. In this regard, the Authority urges food importers and customs brokers to promptly register with the electronic systems for monitoring imported food before the specified deadline expires. During a lecture organized earlier at the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce headquarters, the Authority provided an explanation of the electronic food registration mechanism and the clearance procedures established for the control of imported food. This was done by introducing the electronic registration system via the Authority’s website , the process for electronically clearing goods at ports of entry, methods for registering food products and foreign facilities from which imports originate, and other required information.
