The company stated that these projects were submitted by a large number of local and international companies and consortiums, indicating that a number of Korean and local consortiums have won (4) contracts of the first phase of the strategic water plan projects in Riyadh city, worth (642) million riyals for the four contracts, while local companies won (5) contracts worth (613) million riyals.
These contracts include the implementation of the Ras al-Zour desalination plant of the General Organization for Saline Water Desalination, with a value of (800,000) cubic meters per day.
These contracts include the implementation of parts of the first phase of the strategic plan for the city of Riyadh, which includes the extension of strategic water lines in the city of Riyadh, and the duration of these contracts ranges between two and three years, and the length of the lines to be implemented (260 km), with diameters ranging from (300 mm to 2000 mm), in addition to the implementation of reservoirs with a total capacity estimated at (600,000 m3).
The company added that other benefits that will be achieved by implementing these projects include reducing losses in the network by increasing the current efficiency of operation by dividing Riyadh into (88) pressure zones, and these contracts will contribute to keeping up with the growing demand for water and serving more than 5 million customers in the city of Riyadh.
The company explained that it seeks to attract a number of international and local companies to implement a number of its strategic and vital projects in infrastructure and service development, due to the size of the technical and technical capabilities and human expertise available to it, in addition to the speed of implementation of projects at the level of quality sought by the company, where the company worked to qualify a number of international and local companies to implement those projects according to the prepared timetables.
National Water added that Sur was established in 1933 in France and has experience in managing and operating the water and sanitation sectors in many countries in Africa, Britain, Canada, Spain and Poland, and has (5700) water contracts, and serves more than (5.5) million customers in (16),5 million customers in (16) regions in France only, and has (6900) employees, with annual sales estimated at (1.5) billion euros, and is the third largest specialized water company in France after the French companies Veolia and Suez, which are the first and second companies in the world.
It is worth mentioning that the National Water Company, as part of its efforts to attract qualified local and international companies to implement its projects, recently organized a workshop to introduce local and international investors to its investments and future projects, and the workshop witnessed a large turnout from local and international companies.
