The volume of trade between the Kingdom and Jordan5.3 billion dollars
Mohammed Al-Awda, Chairman of the Saudi – Jordanian Council at the Council of Saudi Chambers, during the coordination meeting currently being held in Amman, that upcoming meetings will be between Saudi business leaders and their Jordanian counterparts, as well as relevant authorities in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, representing a framework for genuine partnership between the two kingdoms, as this visit aims to strengthen the bonds of cooperation and trade and economic exchange, in a manner that reflects the unique nature of the relationship between the two brotherly countries and the extent of the opportunities and potential available to advance other areas under the wise leadership of the two kingdoms.
On the sidelines of the “Saudi-Jordanian Economic Forum and the Eighth Meeting of the Saudi-Jordanian Joint Business Council,” Al-Ouda also emphasized the importance of upcoming meetings between the Saudi and Jordanian sides, stressing the need to open the doors to the flow of capital that contributes to opening new horizons for investment, trade, and services through joint coordination among the relevant authorities on both sides.
In the same context, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Al-Waleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was briefed on the results of the Council members’ discussions regarding the positives, negatives, and obstacles they faced during their work in previous periods, and expressed his keen interest in the significant progress they have made in supporting the development of bilateral economic relations between the two brotherly countries.
It is worth noting that the volume of trade between the two countries exceeded $3.5 billion in 2014, while the Kingdom ranks high on the list of investors in Jordan, with investments exceeding $10 billion in the transportation, infrastructure, energy, financial and commercial, and tourism construction sectors.
