Signed Ministry of Municipalities and Housing وNew Square Development Company -A memorandum of cooperation aims to enhance areas of cooperation in the development of urban projects and harmonize the related targets, in order to contribute to achieving urban integration and quality of life, in accordance with the approved regulations and instructions.
The two sides were represented by H.E. Deputy Minister of Municipalities and Housing Mr. Ihab bin Ghazi Al Hashani and CEO of New Square Development Company Michael Dyke.
The memorandum included cooperation in studying the integration of urban uses for major projects, harmonizing afforestation policies, pavement design rules, green spaces, and architectural identity, taking into account traffic safety requirements and reflecting national trends for sustainable development, in addition to benefiting from international best practices in the development of city centers and infrastructure projects.
Areas of cooperation include the exchange of technical expertise in the areas of Urban designand the adoption of technical and procedural manuals for construction and operational projects, in addition to implementing community participation programs and initiatives that serve the residents of the project and neighboring neighborhoods, and promote the participation of various segments of society.
It also included cooperation in qualifying real estate developers and contractors, raising the efficiency of real estate development works, reviewing modern technologies in construction and the appropriateness of their application, as well as supporting initiatives related to real estate technology.“Proptech” to promote sustainability at the new square destination.
Both parties emphasized that the memorandum of cooperation represents a supportive step to integrate efforts between the relevant authorities in the field of urban development, and contributes to achieving the goals of sustainable urban development.
