Since its launch through the end of last year, the guarantee program for financing small and medium-sized enterprises run by women entrepreneurs in the Kingdom has issued approximately 859 guarantees, totaling 365 million riyals, while the total value of financing provided by participating banks reached approximately 747 million riyals.
The General Manager of the SME Financing Guarantee Program, Engineer Osama bin Abdulrahman Al-Mubarak, revealed that the program has guaranteed women entrepreneurs the right to finance their projects on an equal footing with men, in accordance with the required conditions.
The program director called for the promotion of women-owned small and medium-sized enterprises by increasing the number of female entrepreneurs qualified to manage business activities through financing or through specialized training and educational programs organized by the program annually.
Al-Mubarak highlighted the government’s commitment to encouraging and increasing women’s participation and providing them with opportunities to actively contribute to supporting and developing the economy across various sectors and business fields, as many of the restrictions that previously hindered women’s entry into the labor market or investment have been removed, in addition to the introduction of numerous programs that support women in all fields, ranging from education, training, and preparation for the labor market to the enactment of laws that promote women’s entry into the business sector.
