The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) has started updating the general framework of the General Population and Housing Census, which is implemented by more than a thousand employees and collaborators covering three thousand six hundred and eighty-eight counting areas distributed across the Kingdom.
Taysir Al-Mafraj, the official spokesperson of the General Authority for Statistics, emphasized that this update comes in preparation for the implementation of several multi-purpose sample household studies and research during the coming period, God willing, for which the general framework of the General Population and Housing Census 1431H is the main source for drawing the sample of those researches This update comes due to the importance of representing the research samples that will be selected for the society in a true representation, so that it can be relied upon and fulfill all the requirements of future research and family studies implemented by GASTAT or support decision makers in ministries and governmental bodies related to serving the citizen.
<p class="p1Mafraj explained that the modernization process will be carried out by selecting a sample of a number of counting areas in a scientific manner from the general framework of the population and housing census as primary sampling units for each household research, and preparing and equipping them to serve as the main sample and the primary source for drawing the sample items of all household research in order to unify efforts and save time and costs. The process of updating the framework aims to prepare up-to-date lists in the counting areas that include buildings, dwellings and households located in the counting areas that will be selected as part of the main household research sample, and buildings, dwellings and households in these areas will be numbered and counted according to specially prepared forms for this purpose.
