With the steady growth of the automotive sector in the Kingdom, as evidenced by an increase in car sales to 93 billion Saudi riyals—and with car sales expected to reach one million units annually by 2020—Riyadh Exhibitions Company Limited, the exhibition’s organizer, has announced the launch of the Riyadh Auto Show in early December, building on the success it has achieved since its inception 30 years ago in attracting major companies operating in this sector and a large segment of the youth audience.
The automotive sector is considered one of the most influential sectors in the economy, particularly given the Kingdom’s focus on supporting the domestic automotive industry. This sector is one of six targeted industrial sectors and represents the beating heart of the Kingdom’s ambitious strategy to diversify domestic industry.
His Royal Highness Prince Saud Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors, said, ”We were keen to begin preparations many months before the start of this event, out of our commitment to achieving outstanding success that enhances the Kingdom’s standing on the global stage in organizing the most important and largest exhibitions, especially since the auto show represents our beloved capital, Riyadh. Accordingly, we hope that all automotive brands will participate to place Riyadh among the global cities that host comprehensive exhibitions for cars, vehicles, and related accessories—especially since we provide the best venue and organization in the Kingdom to host such an event.
He concluded by saying: “This year’s exhibition features a new format with a significant addition: the Sports Vehicles Exhibition dedicated to motorcycles, in line with the notably widespread phenomenon of motorcycling in the Kingdom.
The exhibition provides the ideal opportunity for automotive companies, vehicle and motorcycle manufacturers, and suppliers of related accessories to connect with the widest possible audience interested in this sector and to learn about the latest technologies and products.
