The Riyadh Region Infrastructure Projects Center announced that a collapse occurred on one of the main streets north of the capital, Riyadh, caused by excavation work underway at a construction site. The Center explained that the incident caused a partial soil collapse that extended to the parallel street, affecting several infrastructure assets, including the rupture of a water pipe, which led to the accumulation of large amounts of water at the site.

According to a statement issued by the Center, its inspection teams immediately responded to the site in coordination with the relevant authorities, and emergency plans were activated to ensure uninterrupted service continuity for end users, The site was also secured, and the damaged assets were isolated to prevent the situation from worsening.

The Center commended the high level of coordination and cooperation between the Riyadh Region Secretariat, the General Directorate of Traffic, the Saudi Electricity Company, and the National Water Company, noting that the rapid response limited the impact of the incident.
