His Excellency Mr. Ihab bin Ghazi Al-Hashani, Deputy Minister of Municipalities and Housing, affirmed yesterday that the transformation currently taking place in the Kingdom’s real estate sector is centered on enhancing operational efficiency, improving implementation methods, and procedural clarity, thereby contributing to sustainable growth based on clear regulatory frameworks and enhancing stability of the real estate market, This came during his participation in a panel discussion as part of the fifth edition of the Future of Real Estate Forum, where His Excellency explained that the real estate sector is witnessing a transition from working with individual solutions and exceptions to a structured implementation model based on specific systems and procedures, which contribute to improving the business environment and increasing the sector’s attractiveness for investment and financing.
His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Municipalities and Housing noted that the expansion of the housing sector has been achieved through a shift from separate projects to an integrated system encompassing land, permits, standards, financing, and implementation, emphasizing that clear procedures, land availability, adherence to timelines, and clear exit mechanisms are essential elements in boosting investor confidence. His Excellency explained that municipalities are no longer merely service providers but have become active players in economic development and investment, supported by clear regulatory tools that contribute to the development of cities and enhance their efficiency and sustainability.
Al-Hashani emphasized that quality of life represents a long-term approach to improving the urban environment, noting that growth in the real estate sector is inherently sustainable, with major events contributing to its acceleration without being its primary driver, while focusing on building confidence and clarity regarding the future outlook to ensure market stability.
