The Infrastructure Projects Center in Riyadh Region has obligated the implementers of infrastructure to obtain prior technical accreditation, starting from January 2027, as part of the "Assol" program, as part of its efforts to raise the efficiency and reliability of project implementation, and enhance compliance with quality, safety and environmental standards in the city of Riyadh.

The Center explained that the technical pre-accreditation aims to raise the competitiveness of the sector, by applying clear standards that ensure that the capabilities of the executors match the nature and size of the projects, which contributes to improving the quality of implementation and reducing operational and organizational risks.
He indicated that technical accreditation will be a mandatory requirement for practicing infrastructure works starting from January 1, 2027, within a preliminary path aimed at enabling the market to prepare and comply with the new requirements.

<The center indicated that the mechanism for calculating technical accreditation scores is based on a weighted assessment that ensures fairness and objectivity, where 55% was allocated for technical and operational capabilities, including human resources, operational readiness, quality and safety management, while 25% was allocated for financial stability, including liquidity, commitment ratios and the ability of the facility to financial continuity, in addition to 20% for professional experience record, which includes years of experience, number of projects implemented, volume of business, and level of performance in closing permits.
The Center indicated that this initiative comes within the “Assol” program, which includes a set of transformational initiatives aimed at developing the infrastructure system in the Riyadh region, raising the level of coordination between the relevant authorities, and improving the quality of work.
