«Sakan showcases Joud Housing's experience in promoting housing solidarity at the World Urban Forum

Skan is participating in the World Urban Forum (WUF13), held in the Azerbaijani capital Baku, headed by H.E. Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipalities and Housing and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Skan, to review leading national experiences in urban development and sustainable housing and highlight the Kingdom's efforts in empowering the non-profit sector and promoting sustainable housing solutions.<In a number of specialized sessions and meetings, Sakan highlighted the experience of Jood Housing platform as a leading Saudi model in utilizing technology and community financing to enable deserving families to access adequate housing, in addition to reviewing innovative financing solutions and the role of partnerships in promoting housing sustainability.

Stimulating residential giving
During a panel discussion entitled "Experiences and effective financing solutions to enable residential ownership in housing projects", the Secretary General of the Community Development Housing Corporation (Sakan), Rashid bin Mohammed Al Jalajel, reviewed the most prominent national experiences in stimulating residential giving and enhancing the social impact of investment in the non-profit housing sector.

Jalajil emphasized that the great support enjoyed by the “Joud Housing” platform since its establishment by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister - may God protect them - has contributed to enhancing the reliability of the platform and consolidating its position as one of the most prominent national models in the housing development work.<He pointed out that the donation of His Highness the Crown Prince - may God protect him - in favor of Sakan, represented by the “Joud Housing” platform, represented a milestone in expanding the impact of housing initiatives and enhancing community participation, indicating that this qualitative support contributed to accelerating the pace of enabling deserving families to own housing in various regions of the Kingdom.

Investing in housing initiatives
He explained that the social return on investment in housing initiatives goes beyond the concept of direct support, as every riyal invested contributes to achieving a sustainable social and developmental impact that reflects on the stability and quality of life of families, stressing that housing sustainability starts from the diversity of solutions and financing tracks to suit the needs of different families.
He reviewed the role of integration between government agencies, the private sector and the non-profit sector in building an integrated participatory system that contributes to reaching more comprehensive and sustainable housing solutions, in addition to the importance of digital transformation in enhancing transparency and raising the level of trust

Supporting the needs of families
During the session, he touched on the role of artificial intelligence and data analysis in raising the efficiency of directing housing support and improving the alignment of solutions provided with the needs of eligible families, which contributes to the development of more accurate and sustainable models in development work.He stressed that the goal is no longer limited to providing housing, but extends to building stable and sustainable communities that enhance the quality of life and support social and economic development, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
