The The Shura Council held its 37th regular session of the second year of the ninth term yesterday, chaired by Council Vice President Mishaal bin Fahm Al-Salmi. During the session, the Council issued a resolution regarding the annual report of the Saudi Water Authority for the fiscal year 1446/1447 AH.
The Council called on the Authority to strengthen its efforts in managing water demand by adopting an integrated national framework that combines awareness programs, smart technologies, and incentive-based pricing mechanisms to promote rational consumption.

The Council also called on the Authority to expand the range of investment opportunities aimed at localization and knowledge transfer to include various water sectors, as well as coordinating with relevant authorities to develop a binding regulatory framework linking the approval of residential plans with the completion of water and sanitation services prior to their approval.
The Council also directed the Authority to expand integrated interconnection projects between different regions of the Kingdom, thereby contributing to enhancing water security, raising the level of preparedness to deal with emergencies, and ensuring the sustainability of water supplies.
