Municipalities across the Kingdom have set up public viewing areas to welcome fans watching the Saudi national team’s match against Spain, as part of the “Our Cities Cheer for Our National Team” initiative launched by the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, with the aim of providing a national fan experience in public squares, parks, and facilities, and fostering an atmosphere of encouragement and support for the Green Team.
Preparations included providing screens at viewing locations, as well as the preparation of public squares and support services, ensuring an organized and comprehensive experience for families and individuals, and highlighting the role of municipal facilities as community spaces that host major national and sporting events.
Open spaces and urban destinations were equipped to welcome fans, with organized entry and exit procedures, the provision of basic services, and the creation of suitable environments that allow the public to watch the match in a safe and enthusiastic atmosphere, in addition to highlighting national identity and raising Saudi flags at event venues.

This initiative builds on the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing’s efforts to revitalize public squares, parks, and facilities, and to strengthen the role of cities in creating community experiences, in line with quality-of-life objectives, and to cement the status of public spaces as vibrant destinations that bring residents and visitors together around national events.
The “Our Cities Cheer for Our National Team” initiative underscores that the Kingdom’s cities are active partners in supporting the Saudi national team; through open spaces that foster enthusiasm, express a sense of belonging, and provide fans with a place to celebrate the Green Team and support it as it strives for success.
