The Riyadh Region Infrastructure Projects Center reviewed its key performance indicators and achievements during the second quarter of 2026, continuing its role in enhancing the efficiency of the infrastructure sector and improving coordination among service providers, thereby contributing to better project implementation and a higher quality of life in the city of Riyadh.
The indicators revealed that 51,191 permits were issued for infrastructure works, with projects distributed as follows: 67% for the water sector, 24% for the energy sector, and 3% for the telecommunications sector, while the roads and public spaces sector accounted for 6% of the total projects, reflecting the scale of activity and integration among the various service sectors.
Number of Permits and Completed Projects
The number of permits and completed projects under the comprehensive plan reached 4,169, underscoring the importance of advance planning and joint coordination to ensure efficient project implementation, minimizing the duplication of excavation work, and maximizing the use of existing infrastructure.
In terms of oversight and monitoring, the Center conducted more than 103,000 field visits to monitor project work and verify compliance with approved requirements and standards, with a total of 16,318 violations recorded as part of a monitoring system that helps raise compliance levels and improve the quality of implementation.
In terms of serving beneficiaries, the Center received and processed more than 77,000 reports through its various channels, thereby enhancing response speed and improving the efficiency of handling feedback.
The Center also organized more than 68 workshops targeting service providers, contractors, and consultants, with the aim of raising awareness of regulations and procedures and promoting best practices in the implementation of infrastructure projects.
These indicators reflect the Infrastructure Projects Center’s ongoing efforts to develop its operational framework, enhancing integration among relevant entities, and improving project implementation efficiency—all of which support urban development goals and achieve a more sustainable and efficient infrastructure.
