117,000 contractors are registered with the Saudi Contractors Authority

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Contractors Authority, Mohammed Al-Ajlan, confirmed that the construction sector accounts for approximately 7% of the Kingdom’s economy, with this percentage expected to rise amid the momentum of development projects underway in the Kingdom. He noted that the real estate and construction sectors are experiencing rapid growth and offer promising investment opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises.
He noted that the number of contractors officially registered with the Saudi Contractors Authority has reached approximately 117,000, reflecting the sector’s expanding scale and the growing opportunities available to enterprises qualified to participate in national projects.

Empowering Entrepreneurs with Promising Opportunities
This was announced during the opening session of the “Real Estate and Construction Week,” organized by the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Monsha’at) in partnership with the General Authority for Real Estate and the Saudi Contractors Authority, from July 12 to 16, 2026, as part of the “Business Weeks” series, with the aim of empowering entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium-sized enterprises to capitalize on promising opportunities in the real estate and construction sectors, and connecting them with potential partners, financing solutions, and high-quality partnerships.
Al-Ajlan explained that capacity building, governance, safety, and digital transformation are the cornerstones for enhancing the readiness of small and medium-sized enterprises and strengthening their competitiveness. He emphasized that partnerships and alliances contribute to expanding their growth opportunities and increasing their participation in major projects.

Implementation of Targeted Initiatives and Programs
He noted that the Saudi Contractors Authority continues to implement initiatives and programs aimed at improving the efficiency of Saudi contractors and enhancing the sustainability of their businesses, noting that among the most prominent challenges facing some small and medium-sized enterprises are inadequate project feasibility studies, inaccurate pricing, and poor cash flow management, and calling on entrepreneurs to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the sector.
The first day’s events included the signing of a cooperation agreement between “Monsha’at” and the Saudi Contractors Authority, aimed at supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in the construction sector by providing joint services and programs, and enhancing integration between the two parties“ programs and platforms, thereby contributing to improving the readiness of SMEs, supporting their growth, and enabling them to capitalize on the opportunities available in the sector.

40 entities from the public and private sectors
More than 40 entities from the public and private sectors participated in the specialized sessions and meetings on the first day, discussing investment opportunities in the real estate and contracting sectors, enabling small and medium-sized enterprises to benefit from development projects and enhancing their participation in supply chains, in addition to reviewing financing solutions, real estate technologies, and strategic partnerships, and best practices that support the growth and sustainability of these enterprises.

The week is being held at enterprise support centers in the cities of Riyadh and Madinah, and the provinces of Jeddah and Al-Khobar, while its events in Abha are being organized in collaboration with the Asir Region Development Authority and the ”Work Corner“ incubator, and in Sakaka in collaboration with the House of Culture, thereby expanding the reach of its activities across various regions of the Kingdom.
The organization of ”Real Estate and Construction Week“ is part of ”Munsha’at’s“ efforts to strengthen the integration of the support system for small and medium-sized enterprises, and to enable them to access investment opportunities and potential partners in promising sectors, thereby contributing to enhancing their competitiveness and supporting their growth and sustainability, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
