Amid local and international participation of more than 200 exhibitors: The success of the 21st Saudi International Furniture and Decoration Exhibition

The 21st International Exhibition for Furniture, Decoration, and Ornamentation (The Ideal Home), organized by Dhahran International Exhibitions Company at its exhibition center in Al-Raka under the patronage of His Highness Prince Jalawi bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, from May 4 – 10 May 2013, achieved remarkable success with local, regional, and international participation exceeding 200 exhibitors from the Kingdom, the UAE – Italy – Turkey – Egypt – Pakistan – China – Malaysia, and other countries.

Wide Participation

The exhibition featured everything related to the home and interior design, including furniture, furnishings, and carpets; interior decorations and designs; wall, floor, and ceiling coverings; ceramics; bathrooms and bathroom fixtures, kitchens and kitchen appliances, garden furniture and equipment, swimming pools and pool equipment, interior lighting and chandeliers, wrought ironwork, wooden, glass, and aluminum doors, paints, fiberglass, electrical and electronic appliances, air conditioners, home communication systems and intercoms, antiques and landscape features, with the participation of over 200 exhibitors from the Kingdom, the UAE – Italy – Turkey – Egypt – Pakistan – China – Malaysia, and other countries.
During his tour of the exhibition, His Highness Prince Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed expressed his admiration for all the exhibits and noted that the furniture industry sector in Saudi Arabia is witnessing remarkable development, and that the local furniture production market has become competitive in terms of quality and varietywith the international market, noting the importance of such exhibitions in introducing Saudi consumers to the scale of national production, as well as opening the market to other countries and exchanging expertise and knowledge with them.

A Long-Standing Exhibition
Over the course of twenty years, the International Furniture, Decoration, and Ornamentation Exhibition has seen a growing annual turnout, contributing to an increase in the number of participating local and international companies, which has led to the exhibition’s development and added a new dimension that distinguishes it as a specialized exhibition for furniture, decoration, and ornamentation, where Mr. Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Husseini, CEO of Dhahran International Exhibitions Company, explained that the company is keen to hold this exhibition at this time of year, when demand for all home essentials in the furniture and decor markets increases, providing an opportunity to bring them together under oneone roof for exhibition visitors seeking specific characteristics in the exhibits, most importantly quality and sophistication.
Al-Hussein added that through this event, many companies presented their seasonal offerings to visitors and decision-makers—including merchants and businesspeople seeking new investment opportunities in the furniture, decor, and ornamentation sector—noting that many international participants are looking toat the exhibition to find an agent for the Saudi market; therefore, the volume of deals is expected to exceed 150 million riyals.
