cement prices fell last July on a month-over-month basis, coinciding with a rise in the prices of several types of concrete, sand, and concrete blocks, according to data from the Bulletin of Average Prices of Goods and Services issued by the General Authority for Statistics.
Cement Prices Continue to Fall
The price of black cement in July fell by 1.2% compared to the previous month, settling at 15.5 riyals. The decline extended to white cement, whose price fell by 2.3% on a monthly basis, reaching 37.7 riyals per 50-kg bag.
Variation in concrete prices
Remained unchanged Concrete prices followed a mixed trend in July, with some types rising, others falling, and one type remaining unchanged.
The price of «350 k» concrete rose by 0.2% in July on a month-over-month basis, reaching 224.9 riyals per cubic meter.
In contrast, the price of «250 k» concrete fell by 0.3%, reaching 203.7 riyals per cubic meter.
«Standard 350 k» concrete rose by 0.5% on a month-over-month basis, reaching 215.4 riyals per cubic meter.
As for «Standard 250 kg» concrete, its price remained stable at 195.7 riyals per cubic meter, unchanged from the previous month.
Sand Prices Show Mixed Trends
Prices for various types of sand trended upward in July, with the rate of increase varying by type.
The price of fine white sand rose by 0.9% on a month-over-month basis, reaching 77.6 riyals per cubic meter—the same percentage increase seen in the price of the «Sand and Gravel» mix, reaching 52.8 riyals per cubic meter.
Red sand recorded the largest increase among these varieties, rising by 1.5% in July to reach 38.6 riyals per cubic meter.
Moderate increase in block prices
The increases also included prices for black blocks, albeit at a moderate rate.
The price of 15-cm black concrete blocks rose by 0.1% in July, reaching 1,678 riyals per 1,000 blocks.
The price of 20-cm black blocks also increased by 0.2%, reaching 1,735.9 riyals per 1,000 blocks.
