King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) handled 6.3 million passengers during the Umrah season of 1437 AH, with the last flight departing at dawn on Thursday of last week.
The Umrah season extended from last Safar until Shawwal 15, and the number of incoming passengers reached 3.5 million Umrah pilgrims who arrived on 28 thousand flights, while the number of departures reached about 2.8 million pilgrims who returned to their countries through more than 14 thousand flights, served by more than 7,000 employees representing 27 government and private sectors, who were recruited at King Abdulaziz International Airport to serve the pilgrims.

On this occasion, the Director of Founder's Airport, M. Abdullah bin Mosaad Al-Rimi explained that the Umrah pilgrims who completed their Umrah rituals departed to their countries smoothly and quietly through the lounges designated to serve them at the airport.
Founder's Airport Director M. Abdullah bin Mosaad Al-Rimi Al-Rimi noted that "the success and achievement achieved in receiving and bidding farewell to Umrah pilgrims and facilitating their return with ease and ease would not have been achieved without the grace of God Almighty, then the directives of the rulers, the continuous follow-up from the Emirate of Makkah and the General Authority for Civil Aviation and the efforts of all parties working at the airport without exception, through a collective work system embodied in one team spirit and working under one umbrella to reach what honors our dear country of serving the guests of the Holy House of Allah."
Rimi pointed out that the airport is the first and most important hub of the pilgrims.
