Under the patronage of the Governor of the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises, Dr. Ghassan Al-Sulaiman, the city of Jeddah witnessed the graduation of 8 start-up companies for young entrepreneurs in the presence of a large number of businessmen and women, investors and managers of major companies in the Kingdom recently in Jeddah that among the groups targeted by the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises are government sector employees, in order to achieve the direction of the state towards reducing the large number of government sector employees and increasing their effectiveness and productive capabilities, and Al-Sulaiman stressed the importance of the contribution and development of small and medium enterprises to the Saudi economy and work to raise the domestic product and the private sector.
Sulaiman pointed out that the citizen in the government sector or the private sector is a contributor to the development of the Kingdom's economy, through his role and effort exerted in that, and work to optimize the utilization of the energies of the sons of the country in the most appropriate fields for each of them,” indicating that the indicators indicate that the productivity of the government sector is weak compared to the number of employees and other factors.
Governor Al Sulaiman explained the importance of accelerators in supporting and adopting entrepreneurs, noting that they are working to link the support provided to business accelerators to the results achieved; where the success of accelerators is not measured by the number of those enrolled in their programs, but rather by the number of graduates who are invested in them and their projects, pointing out that the development of the sector is not limited to providing packages that serve and develop business accelerators. He pointed out that the development of the sector is not limited to providing packages that serve and develop business accelerators, but all those who contribute to the development, whether private sector companies or non-profit organizations, in addition to business incubators, with the aim of increasing and doubling accelerators, and this can only be done by improving the environment and providing incentives that attract young people; where several government agencies contributed to providing studies and research to the Authority to identify all the needs of the sector, its current role and how to develop it in the future and achieve its goals.
