“EmiratesGBC holds its fifth annual conference today to chart the way forward

The Emirates Green Building Council (EGBC) will hold its fifth annual conference today, Tuesday, October 25, bringing together leading thought leaders in the field of sustainability, under the theme “Future Emirates: A Look Back at the Future”, under the patronage of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development. Local and international experts in various fields related to sustainable development have confirmed their attendance and participation in the event.

Said Alabbar, Chairman of the Emirates Green Building Council, explained that the annual conference emphasizes the UAE's leadership in highlighting innovative approaches to achieving sustainable development in the future. The conference theme and panel program are designed to showcase the diverse perspectives that will provide in-depth insights for participants.

The keynote speeches at the opening ceremony will be delivered by Anwar Al Shammari, Director of Design at the Ministry of Infrastructure Development; Ahmed Bukhash, Director of Urban Planning at Dubai Creative Communities Authority; Saeed Al Abbar, Chairman of Emirates Green Building Council, will welcome guests; and Holly Chant, Director of Corporate Sustainability at KEOW, will moderate the conference.

Conference keynote addresses will be delivered by Engineer Anwar Al Shammari, Director of Design Department, Ministry of Infrastructure Development.

The first day of the conference will feature a presentation on "Buildings of the Future“ by Talik Shalaby, Partner at Shalaby Architecture (speaking on the Sheikh Zayed Desert Science Center) and Matthew Utley, Associate Director at Grimshaw Architecture (speaking on the Expo 2020 Dubai Sustainability Pavilion), and concludes tomorrow, Wednesday, October 26.
