The Saudi-Sudanese Joint Business Council will hold an important session in Khartoum in the coming days with the aim of preparing for the investment forum of the two countries hosted by Riyadh from April 13 to 14, 2013.
The Saudi side will be headed by Sheikh Saleh Kamel, while the Sudanese side will be headed by Saud Al-Breer.
For his part, Al-Breer, President of the General Federation of Sudanese Employers, said that the meeting will discuss a number of agendas, the most important of which is to follow up and discuss the ongoing preparations and arrangements for the Sudanese-Saudi Economic and Investment Forum in Riyadh and the requirements to achieve success for the conference, adding that the meeting will discuss the investment climate and environment in Sudan, efforts to promote and develop economic and trade cooperation relations between the two countries, in addition to discussing issues facing investors and Saudi investment projects in Sudan. On the other hand, Sudan has prepared a guide containing its barrier-free agricultural projects to promote them at the Riyadh Forum.
The Sudanese Minister of Investment, Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail, also confirmed the development of a map aimed at further opening, facilitating and building successful partnerships between Sudan and the Kingdom in the field of agricultural investment. He said that the amended investment law was developed with a scientific and objective vision that suits the ambitions of investors to achieve sustainable development and support the economy in the country.
On the other hand, Sudanese Minister of Investment Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail handed over a copy of the new investment law to His Highness Prince Mohammed Al Faisal Al Saud during a meeting between them, recently, in the Sudanese capital Khartoum.
Ismail discussed with H.H. the economic relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them, expressing optimism for the success of the Saudi-Sudanese Investment Forum scheduled to take place in Riyadh next April.
The Sudanese minister gave an explanation about the investment opportunities available in his country and the incentives and advantages granted by the new investment law and the laws governing investment work, explaining that Sudan has many investment components that encourage the business sectors in the Kingdom to benefit from them in establishing projects with a rewarding return.
