Saudi Aramco announced that it will hold a meeting on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, hosted by the Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce, to which it has invited major construction companies and engineering firms from across the Kingdom that possess the necessary expertise and high-level engineering, operational, and technical capabilities. At this meeting, Saudi Aramco will present its engineering and construction plans for the construction of eleven sports stadiums across the Kingdom, in implementation of the Royal Decree entrusting Saudi Aramco with their management, supervision, and construction to the highest international specifications and standards, following the model of what was accomplished at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah. During the meeting, the company will review the technical requirements for the design and implementation of these projects. The meeting provides an opportunity for engineering firms and offices wishing to participate to showcase their capabilities and submit any inquiries they may have regarding this matter. Saudi Aramco’s commitment to providing opportunities for the Kingdom’s national engineering and construction sectors to participate in this massive development program is an extension of its longstanding initiatives to develop the engineering and construction sectors in the Kingdom and strengthen their role in serving the national economy. Saudi Aramco’s efforts in developing implementation plans for the King Abdullah Sports City project in Jeddah have been designed to provide the greatest possible opportunity for national companies to contribute to the project, and to entrust many of the engineering and construction aspects of its implementation to these companies. This has demonstrated the Kingdom’s contracting sector’s ability to execute high-quality facilities and contribute effectively to development efforts.
