King Abdulaziz Port auction fetches 7 million riyals

The auction held by King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam on old equipment and machinery at the port earned seven million riyals, and a number of traders participated in the auction held last Monday, competing among themselves. The auction, which was supervised by Naim bin Ibrahim Al-Naim, director general of the port, was held in the presence of committee chairman Othman bin Yahya Al-Zahrani.

Naim said. He said: “The auction included forklifts, handling cranes and mobile cranes that have exhausted their lifespan, in addition to transport and sedan cars, scrap iron and other miscellaneous things that were dispensed with at the port,” pointing out that “a large number of investors and traders competed to award the auction to them.”

Naim said that the auction was held on a large number of old equipment and machinery that entered the port during the previous period. “The auction started in the morning and ended at 2 p.m.," he said. The director of warehouses at the port, Marwan Abdulaziz, said that old tools that have reached the end of their useful life, or that are damaged and no longer fit for use, are kept in special warehouses until a public auction is held, for which traders and investors compete, indicating that the amount of the auction achieved satisfactory results, thank God.
